Brick Works Quarry to Nature in the City

The Don Valley Brick Works Park was once an old Brick Works quarry, but has now been restored into a thriving eco-friendly site.

We’ve been to Evergreen Brickworks a few times, but never had a chance to explore the park behind it. This park is a result of restoration that began in 1995, with the creation of wetland habitat with a series of ponds. These ponds help to naturally clean the water that flows from Mud Creek before it enters the Don River. Now, in addition to the wetlands, there are also meadows and forest trails.

I definitely wasn’t expecting to see as much wildlife as we did.
