This morning, we took a mini road trip down near Port Rowan to visit Backus Woods, a property owned and protected by the Nature Conservancy of Canada (NCC). Backus Woods is part of NCC’s Nature Destinations program, and is open to the public year round to explore.
The past few weekends were pretty busy for us, with events, errands and appointments. So it was nice to spend a day just enjoying the outdoors again.
We were hoping to see some wildlife as well, but didn’t have much luck. However, we did spot a few tracks in the snow, and some chubby birds (which I think are American sparrows – please correct me if I’m wrong!)
