Portraits from an Island

Tagged: ,

On Day 3 of my trip to Nicaragua with Photographers Without Borders, we had the opportunity to visit a local indigenous community through Ramon and No Rush Tours.

This impoverished indigenous community lives on an island in Lake Nicaragua, one of many small islands forming the Islets of Granada. A portion of the profits raised through No Rush Tours goes towards helping this community by providing them with food, clothes, school supplies, and more.

I don’t want to say any more about this community, simply because as an outsider, I have no right to talk about their story. Rather, I’ll let these portraits speak for themselves.
